COVID19 UPDATE

Due to the COVID19 pandemic, the CDC and American Academy of Ophthalmology strongly recommend that all ophthalmologists provide only urgent or emergent care. In an attempt to keep with these guidelines, our office will be making the following changes:

*There will only be one provider in the office each day, which may require you to see someone other than your regular provider.

*If you already have a scheduled appointment, you may be receiving a call from our office to reschedule if it is deemed to not be urgent.

*If you need to schedule an appointment, feel free to call our office. Our staff will assess your case and determine whether you need to be seen soon or if it can wait until a later time.

The safety of our employees and patients is our #1 priority. We are maximizing our efforts to minimize your risk. We are taking the following steps to ensure everyone’s safety and health during this time:

1. If you are not a patient in treatment, please wait in the car or make plans to drop off and pick up the patient for their appointment. If you need to come into the office to be with a patient in the treatment area, make an appointment, or make a payment, please limit to one adult. Please do not bring additional family members or friends to appointments.

2. If you, or someone you have contact with, has traveled to a high-risk area inside or outside of the United States, please call the office to reschedule your appointment until you have at least 14 days of being symptom-free.

3. If you have a fever, chills, cough, or even mild flu-like symptoms, please do not come to the office. Please call us and we will be happy to reschedule your appointment.

We want you to know that we already use hospital-grade sterilization equipment in our office. We are also cleaning all contact surfaces before, during, and after the workday. Please help us maintain a safe environment by washing your hands and using hand sanitizer.

We will keep you updated with any other changes in the coming weeks.
Please let us know if you have any questions!

Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

James M. Coombs M.D.
